Etnies team signing at the HB store

Posted in Jack's Surfboards on August 21st, 2009

On September 2nd from 4 to 5 Jose Rojo and Ryan Sheckler will be hanging out at our store in Huntington Beach for an Etnies team signing.  They’ll be signing everything that you bring their way.  This is another signing that we’d recommend coming by early to because you know there are going to be a ton of people out there for these guys.  We’re pretty excited that Etnies was able to line up Jose and Ryan for us.  Come down, say what’s up and get something signed.  Not a bad way to spend a Wednesday afternoon before heading back to school!

Jack’s Surfboards was voted the #1 surf shop in the O.C.. Jack’s is very proud to receive this title from there the OC Register. There are tons of surf/dive shops in Orange County, so to claim this title is definitely not an easy task. We would like to thank all of our great customers who frequent our shops, along with all of our employees who make Jack’s Surfboards the great shop that it is today.

Tanner’s new Shredstick

Posted in Jack's Surfboards on August 11th, 2009

Jack’s team rider Tanner Gudauskus sent us a picture of his new surfboard with some Iron Maiden inspired artwork that’s been done on it. We think this board looks pretty amazing and would have a tough time riding it. Sometimes the art just looks so good that you’d rather place it up on the wall than get wax on it and paddle out. Oh well, she sure is pretty in this picture.

Gerry Lopez signing at the HB store

Posted in Jack's Surfboards on August 5th, 2009

Friday August 7th we’ll be hosting a book and poster signing by Mr. Pipline himself, Gerry Lopez. If you’re unsure of who exactly he is, well here is some info for you. Gerry was Hawaii’s State Surfing camp at the young age of 14 and grew to be known as the best tuberider in the world. As a master of Hawaii’s heavy and hollow waves, Gerry naturally moved into shaping boards for these conditions. Gerry created the Lightning Bolt brand of surfboards which was the first to sponsor and provide its surfers with free boards. He’s a legend in both Hawaiian surfing and the entire surf culture. Come out to the Huntington Beach shop on Friday and get something signed by him. We’re starting this signing at 11 am and it will run till 1. But we’re pretty sure that you should come early because this will no doubt be a big one and you’ll want to get in line early.

Welcome to Paradise

We just got a hold of a picture a little bit ago that has solidified our place in pop-punk history. It seems that the lead singer from Green Day, Billie Joe Armstrong was pretty into our Dagg’s shirt. Rumor has it, he has been known to frequent our store in Dana Point. This cannot be confirmed at this point, but if you are into Green Day, we recommend heading down there in hopes of running into him. We are in the process of digging around the warehouse to try and find any leftovers of this shirt. If we can, we’ll load up the remaining inventory for everyone, otherwise, I’d recommend hitting up Ebay. That way more people out there can be wearing the same shirt as the man who brought us the album Dookie!
